What it teaches Jivdaya Ahimsa Courage

The opening of the children's telling

Meher lived in a tall building in a busy city. Near the gate, under a big green tree, lived a brown dog with one floppy ear. Her name was Bhuri. Meher was afraid of Bhuri. Every day she held her mother's hand and walked on the other side of the road.

One day Meher saw her grandmother, Motiba, gently brushing a line of ants out of the kitchen with a soft brush. "Why not just squash them?" asked Meher. Motiba smiled. "Every little creature wants to be safe and happy, just like you," she said. "So we are kind to all of them."
