Without an account

Profile names, symbols, reading and listening progress, lamps, highlights, notes, bookmarks and settings are stored only on your phone. We do not receive them.

With an account

If you create an account we store your name, email address, a securely hashed password (or, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the account identifier they give us), and a copy of your profiles and reading progress (including highlights and notes), so they can be restored and shared across your phones. We use your email only to sign you in and to send password reset codes. We do not sell or share it.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an app user ID (your account ID if you are signed in, otherwise an anonymous ID) and the purchase receipt from the store. It does not receive your name, email or reading data. Payments on jainstory.com are processed by Razorpay, which receives the payment details you enter; we receive only the payment status, amount and reference, never your card or bank details.

Sign in with Google or Apple

If you choose Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, they confirm your identity and share your name and email address with us (Apple may give us a private relay address instead). We use these only to create and sign in to your account.

Reminders

Daily reminders are scheduled on your phone. Nothing about them is sent to us.

Children

Child profiles are a setting inside your family’s app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A grown-up check is shown before purchases and settings on a child profile.

Advertising and tracking

The app shows no advertising and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Deleting your data

Settings, Account, Delete account permanently deletes your account and everything stored with it. Settings, Erase all profiles and progress removes what is stored on the phone. Deleting the app does the same for the phone.

This website

jainstory.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. Like every web server, ours keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, page requested, time) to keep the site secure; they are deleted after 14 days.
