Help
How can we help?
What is the 365-day path?
Each profile starts its own path on the day it is created. Every day the Today screen offers that day’s story. Finish a story, by reading to the last page or listening to the end, and a lamp lights for that day.
How do profiles work?
Up to six people can share the app on one phone, each with their own lamps, reading places, highlights and bookmarks. Child profiles hide stories meant for adults, and a grown-up is asked before any purchase or change to settings.
What do the plans include?
Reader opens every story to read. Reader + Audio adds narration for every story, with a sleep timer and play from the lock screen. Three stories are free to read and hear. One plan covers every profile on the phone.
I got a new phone. How do I get my plan back?
Sign in to the same Apple or Google account you used to subscribe, open Settings in JainStory and tap Restore purchases. If you also have a JainStory account, sign in to it to bring back profiles and progress.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google. Open Settings, Manage or cancel subscription, or go to your store account settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep access until the end of the paid year.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything works on your phone without one. An account keeps a copy of your profiles, lamps, highlights and notes, so they survive a lost or new phone and appear on every phone where you sign in.
I forgot my password.
On the sign in screen tap Forgot password. We email a 6 digit code that works for 15 minutes. Enter it with a new password and you are signed in again.
How do I highlight or bookmark?
While reading, press and hold a word and drag to select, then pick a colour or add a note. Tap the top right corner of a page to bookmark it. Find them all in the list icon in the reader menu, or in Notebook on the Journey tab.
Can I change the text size or colour?
Tap the middle of a page, then Aa. Choose a font, size, line spacing, margins, alignment and page colour, including a black page for night reading.
Does it work offline?
Yes. All stories and narrations are inside the app. An internet connection is only needed to subscribe, restore purchases or sync an account.
The details of a story differ from what I learned.
Many Jain stories are told in more than one way, and Shvetambar and Digambar tellings sometimes differ. We follow the most widely told version. If you spot something to correct, please write to us.
