The opening of the children's telling
Long ago, the soul of Bhagwan Mahavir was born as a prince named Marichi. His grandfather was Rishabhdev, the very first Tirthankar. His father was Bharat, a great king.
Marichi became a monk, but the monk's life was very hard for him. So he made an easier way for himself. He carried an umbrella and wore wooden sandals. But he was honest. He told people, "Rishabhdev's path is the best. Go to him."
