What it teaches Karma Repentance Hope

The opening of the children's telling

King Shrenik was a good king who loved Bhagwan Mahavir. He listened to the Lord whenever he could.

One day Bhagwan Mahavir told him something sad. "When you were young, you went hunting. Your arrow hurt a deer, and instead of feeling sorry, you felt proud. That proud feeling made heavy karma, like a stone tied to your soul."
