What it teaches Faith Courage Forgiveness

The opening of the children's telling

Shripal and Mayanasundari lived happily in the city of Ujjain. Shripal had been very sick once, but with Mayanasundari's faith and their prayers to the Navpad, the nine holy names, he had become well again.

One day Shripal heard people say, look, there goes the king's son-in-law. Shripal thought, I want people to know me for my own good work. So he said goodbye to Mayanasundari and set off on a journey. Do not forget the Navpad, she told him with a smile.
