What it teaches Sharing Quarrelling Greed

The opening of the children's telling

In a village lane lived two cats named Chiku and Minu. They were best friends. They napped in the sun together and chased butterflies together. One day they found a soft, warm rotli lying on a doorstep.

"It is mine!" said Chiku. "No, it is mine!" said Minu. Chiku broke it in two, but one piece was a bit bigger. "You took the big piece!" cried Minu. Then the two friends started to fight. Hiss, hiss! Their tails puffed up big and fat.
