The opening of the children's telling

Under the ground in a garden lived a little earthworm named Muna. Muna had no eyes and no ears. But she could feel the soft soil, and she could taste the old leaves she liked to nibble.

One night it rained and rained. Muna's home filled with water, so she wriggled up onto the garden path. In the morning the sun came out, and the path got warm. Muna could not find her way home.
